I already broke my goal...

March 21st, 2008 at 05:34 pm

I started this month blogging as much as I could. I really like to blog, but then life caught up with me and I had to take a little time off.

Now I'm back! So why did I stop blogging? Well my wonderful husband was hit by an uninsured motorist. Not only did he not have insurance, but he also provided fake insurance which just messed up the whole thing. Thankfully my husband is alive. Hurt but alive. Since this is an ongoing issue I won't say more about the accident, but lets just say it has given me more to blog about.

It's amazing how it all amounts to money. If the party at fault had paid for insurance, (like the law says you have to) our life would be different. Thankfully we have uninsured motorist, but this is still costing us big! Talk about taking a hit to the budget...

Anyways, insurance is up there with housing and food for me on my budget... just wish it was for everyone else!

So what have you all been up to?

I am so sorry about your husband. It makes me really mad about uninsured drivers. Buying insurance should be mandatory like registration fee. DMV should give people a sticker for it!!

Hi there, I agree, uninsured motorists are a real problem. I just got out of the insurance business, and the worst part about the job was seeing honest, hard-working people who get hit by people who don't think it's important to pay their insurance. Even in states where it is required (like ours), it is almost impossible to enforce. We used to get people all the time that would pay one or two months worth, then go get their registration, then never pay again. Even though the larger companies (like State Farm) report it to the state when an insured cancels for nonpayment, there is still little to be done.

I hope your husband feels better, but at least he will recover!
